How to measure a Front Drive shaft. From the flange or universal, as seen to the Right.
Then to the Slip joint end with the slip joint PUSHED IN. This is your SHORTEST measurement
So this front Drive shaft would be called a 29" IN & 30 7/8" OUTThen with the Slip joint PULLED OUT. This is your LONGEST measurement.
Double Cardan taken apart!
Slip Joint area of the shaft. Make sure this joint is tight! U-Joints can be changed...No problem. These are the "Drive Shaft Killers"
Rear Drive shafts with out slip joints in them are easy...Just measure from the middle of One Universal to the Middle of the other Universal!
